At the end of each mission, you find one of the seven Chaos Emeralds, which, when all gathered, offer you the opportunity to defeat the doctor once and for all, making the world a safer place in the process. Gather emeralds and defeat Doctor EggmanĪs far as the story is concerned, Doctor Eggman is at it again, trying to put his evil schemes into motion in order to bring the world to its knees. Although you must use your keyboard to control the heroes, you more often than not feel like they are running on their own and each step can be your last, since you do not always have time to react accordingly to the obstacles.
Since every character has his own special abilities, you must use all of them throughout the game if you want to advance.Īs far as the actual environment is concerned, the 3D levels are much harder to follow than they were in the olden 2D platformer, since speed acquires a new meaning in this installment. They are all running together through the levels and you can quickly switch between then whenever you want to, by pressing the appropriate keyboard shortcut. In Sonic Heroes, you get to control three of the most famous characters from the Sonic universe, including Tails, Knuckles and Sonic himself.
